- Turn on gift mode. Under the prices, open “🎁 Send it as a gift” and add their name and a short message.

Why a digital pet portrait makes a great gift
Printed custom portraits from big studios usually cost $40 to $100 or more and often take one to three weeks for illustration and shipping. A digital portrait from PetMagi costs a few dollars, is ready in minutes and can still be printed and framed. It is the easy choice for last-minute gifts, Secret Santa, coworkers, grandparents who love the dog more than anyone, and friends abroad.

Pet portrait gift FAQ
Can I make a pet portrait gift without the owner knowing?
Yes. Use a clear photo of their pet that you took or that they shared with you, make the free preview, and turn on gift mode. You get a private gift link; we never contact the recipient, so the surprise is safe.
What is the last day to order for Christmas?
Because everything is digital, there is no shipping cut-off. Files are ready to download right after payment, so you can order even on Christmas Eve. If you want to print it yourself, order by December 18 for a photo shop, or December 23 to print at home.
What exactly does the recipient get?
HD painted-style holiday portraits of their pet (2, 4 or 8 depending on the pack), a square share image, and in the Holiday Pack a 5-second vertical video. The Premium pack adds a letter-from-your-pet card. Add the +$3 upgrade bundle for a printable 5×7 greeting card, phone wallpaper and a black-and-white version.
Can I print it or put it in a card?
Yes. The HD files are yours for personal use: print them at home, at a local photo shop, or put the gift link inside a card. The upgrade bundle includes a print-ready 5×7 greeting card PDF.
Which photo works best?
A sharp, well-lit photo where the pet looks toward the camera and the face fills a good part of the frame. Pets only: photos showing people are rejected automatically.
Is it hand-painted?
No. Portraits are AI-generated in painted styles (oil, watercolour-like storybook, cartoon and more) from your photo, which is why it takes minutes and costs a fraction of a commissioned painting. You always see a free preview first.
What if I don't like it?
You only pay if you like the free preview. After purchase you get 2 free re-dos, and a full refund if delivery fails. See our refund policy for details.
Can I gift a portrait of a pet that has passed away?
Yes, many people do. For a softer look and wording, our memorial section makes gentle rainbow-bridge portraits and a sympathy card.
