How to turn your dog into a comic strip
The best pet comic strips are four panels and one true story: the thing your dog always does. Here is how pet comics are built, which photo works, and how to get a free preview of your own pet's strip.

1. Why four panels work
Classic newspaper strips use the same rhythm, and it suits pets perfectly:
- Setup – a normal moment (the tree is up, the snow is falling).
- Build – your pet notices something.
- Turn – it goes wrong in the most pet way possible.
- Punchline – the innocent face. Every pet owner knows this face.
2. Pick the right photo
- Front-facing, eyes visible, in good light – the comic character is built from what the camera caught.
- Markings in view: the white chest, the spotted ear, the one dark paw.
- Pets only – the comic stars your pet, so photos with people are not accepted.
3. Choose a story
| Story on PetMagi | The 4 speech bubbles (English) |
|---|---|
| The Tree Incident | "Is that… a giant toy? For ME?" · "WHEEE!" · "…" · "I am the decoration now." |
| Waiting for Santa | "Santa comes tonight. I will guard the cookies." · "Just one… quality check." · "Santa will understand." · "He understood!!" |
| Ugly Sweater Day | "Guess who's wearing this?" · "NOPE." · "I have been betrayed." · "…okay, I look amazing." |
| Snow Day | "The ground is… cold sugar?" · "ZOOMIES!" · "Help. Also, wonderful." · "Best day ever." |
| Gift Wrapping Helper | "You need a helper." · "Helping!" · "Mmmf." · "Surprise! I'm the gift." |
| Gotcha Day | "Is today the day?" · "Whoa. Is this all mine?" · "Yes. Yes it is." · "Best day of my life (and yours)." |
| Birthday Party | "For me?" · "Just a taste…" · "Oops." · "Worth it." |
| A Day in the Life | "Good morning, world." · "Monitoring the neighbourhood." · "Important meeting." · "Night shift!" |
There is also a separate Valentine's comic. Art styles: Webcomic, Sunday and Storybook.
