Why a memorial portrait can help
For a long time, people were told that healthy grief means “letting go”. In 1996 the grief researchers Dennis Klass, Phyllis Silverman and Steven Nickman questioned that idea in their book Continuing Bonds. They described how many people keep an ongoing inner connection with the one they lost — through memories, rituals and keepsakes — and that this can be a normal, healthy part of grieving.
A portrait with your pet’s name and years is one quiet way to keep that bond: something to look at, frame or share on the days you want to remember them. It does not replace your pet and it does not speak for them; it is simply a keepsake. If your grief feels too heavy to carry alone, please talk to someone you trust — your vet can often point you to pet-loss support.

How it works
- Choose a favourite photo (only your pet, no people)
- Add a name, the years and, if you like, a short memory
- See a free preview, then download the portrait, printable page and card
FAQ
Will it look like my pet?
We keep your pet's real fur colour, markings and face. You see a free preview before paying, so you can try another photo or scene first.
Can I send it to a friend who lost their pet?
Yes. Tick "This is for a friend" and add their name and yours. You get a sympathy card (PDF and image) with a gentle message you can print or send.
What is the "distant path" scene?
For people who prefer not to see their pet up close right now: a calm landscape with a small figure of your pet walking toward the light.
How do I print it?
The keepsake page is an A4 PDF that also fits US Letter. It looks lovely on matte photo paper in a simple frame.
What if it doesn't feel right?
Write to us within 30 days and we refund you in full — no questions asked. We delete photos automatically after 7 days.
